Lorenzo Becomes 12th Named Storm of the Atlantic Hurricane Season, Joins Tropical Storms Karen and Jerry
Tropical Storm Lorenzo has joined Tropical Storms Jerry and Karen in the Atlantic basin, according to the advisory from the National Hurricane Center.
Lorenzo is the 12th named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season.
It's the second time this year, the Atlantic hurricane season has seen three named storms simultaneously. The first time was on Sept. 4 when Dorian, Fernand and Gabrielle were active at the same time, according to Philip Klotzbach, meteorologist at Colorado State University.
